Happy 250th, America
Freedom: A Gift Worth Honoring
Two hundred and fifty years.
That’s an amazing milestone.
This year, as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, I’ve found myself thinking less about fireworks and more about freedom.
Not just the freedom we celebrate as a nation, but the freedoms we often overlook in our own lives.
The freedom to worship.
The freedom to speak.
The freedom to dream.
The freedom to build.
The freedom to forgive.
The freedom to begin again.
Those freedoms didn’t come without sacrifice. They were purchased through the courage, conviction, and service of countless men and women who believed future generations were worth fighting for.
Today, I pause to honor them.
I also pause to thank God.
No nation is perfect. No people are perfect. Yet God’s grace continues to meet us, and His faithfulness continues to carry us through seasons of triumph and seasons of challenges.
As someone whose work centers on helping women reclaim their voice, I don’t take freedom lightly.
I’ve learned that some of the deepest prisons aren’t built with walls. They’re built with fear, shame, silence, and the belief that our voices don’t matter.
That’s why today reminds me that freedom is both a national blessing and a personal responsibility.
We honor those who fought for our country’s freedom by using ours wisely.
By choosing kindness over division.
By serving our communities.
By extending grace.
By speaking truth with love.
By standing for what is right.
And by never forgetting that the freedoms we enjoy today were entrusted to us, not simply for our benefit, but for the generations that will follow.
Today, I’m grateful.
Grateful for faith.
Grateful for family.
Grateful for the opportunity to serve others through the gifts God has given me.
Grateful for the privilege of living in a country where I can freely build a business, write these words, encourage others, and pursue the calling God has placed on my life.
As America celebrates 250 years, my prayer is simple:
May we never take freedom for granted.
May we continue to seek wisdom over pride, unity over division, and hope over fear.
And may each of us use the voice we’ve been given to make a difference in the lives of others.
Happy 250th Birthday, America.
May God continue to bless this nation and each of us as we strive to leave it better than we found it.
A Transparency Moment
Today, before the celebrations begin, take a quiet moment to reflect:
What freedom in your own life are you most thankful for today?
Sometimes the greatest celebration isn’t found in the fireworks overhead, but in the quiet gratitude we carry within our hearts.
Happy Independence Day, and Happy 250th Birthday, America.
