Who This Book Is For
For every woman who's ever carried more than she could say...and kept going anyway.
You may not know me.
You may not know my story.
And this might even be your very first time reading one of my reflections. If so…welcome.
My name is Deb Davis. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, cancer survivor, headshot photographer, encourager, and…after decades of quiet nudges from God…a soon-to-be author.
For over 30 years, I felt the call to write a book. But I didn’t know how. I didn’t know where to start. And I honestly didn’t know if I could tell the whole truth, not because I was ashamed, but because I didn’t know if the world was ready.
Or maybe... I didn’t know if I was ready.
And then life shifted.
After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in 2024, I realized something profound:
There was no more time to wait.
No more hiding.
No more whispering parts of my story while leaving the heaviest parts tucked away in silence.
God didn’t just call me to write…He called me to be transparent. And not just about the safe parts of my story. About all of it.
So, who is this book for?
It’s for the woman who looks like she has it all together, but cries when no one’s watching.
For the woman who keeps smiling because she’s afraid of what might fall apart if she stops.
It’s for the daughter who was told to be strong.
The mother who gave her all and is only now realizing how exhausted she is.
The woman who has endured betrayal, disappointment, abuse, cancer, heartbreak—or all of the above—and never really had a safe place to say it out loud.
This book is for the leader who leads while still healing.
The helper who’s secretly hoping someone would help her.
The quiet fighter who’s never had time to fall apart.
It’s for the version of me I used to be.
The 17-year-old girl who became a mother while still needing mothering herself.
The woman who survived abuse, carried shame, built a life, and kept showing up—long before she ever gave herself permission to be seen.
What you’ll find in this book isn’t a platform.
It’s not a performance.
It’s not a step-by-step guide for how to “overcome” like me.
It’s a mirror.
A soft, sacred space where you may find parts of your own story reflected in mine.
The Faces of Transparency: What We Reveal is not just about me.
It’s about us.
Our mothers. Our daughters. Our sisters. Ourselves.
It’s about learning how to stop shrinking, stop hiding, and start breathing again—deeply, fully, freely.
If no one has ever told you that your truth is holy…
Let me be the first to say it: It is.
If no one has ever said it’s okay to let your story breathe…
Let this be that moment.
This book was written for the woman who is ready to stop performing strength and start living in truth.
And if that’s you, I hope you’ll join me.
